New to keyboard customizations in SolidWorks?

How to Create a Custom Keyboard Shortcut
  • Open the Customize MenuIn SOLIDWORKS, go to the top menu and click:Tools → Customize…(Or right-click on any toolbar area and select “Customize.”)

  • Go to the Keyboard TabIn the Customize window, click the “Keyboard” tab.

  • Find the CommandUse the search box or browse the categories to find the command you want to assign a shortcut to.Example: Search for “Smart Dimension” or browse to Sketch → Smart Dimension.

  • Assign the ShortcutClick on the  the keyboard combination you want to assign (e.g., D, Ctrl + E, etc.).If the key is already in use, SOLIDWORKS will show a warning and let you choose whether to override the existing shortcut.click OK to apply and close the window.

  • Apply and CloseOnce you’ve made your changes, click OK to apply and close the window.
